-I saw it on TV but cant find the show
-Unique Sweets

Hidden away in the the Chelsea Market across from the Tuck Shop  this spot was a welcome reprieve from the humid hot weather. Everything is made fresh with real fruit. They feature unique rotating flavors each day. Yesterday it was Apricot Jasmine, Roasted Red Plum, Yellow Plum Shredded Mint, and Cantaloupe Ginger. I had the watermelon basil and it was a mellow flavor that surprisingly worked well together. Had bits of fruit throughout. They also have shaved ice. Like real deal shaved by hand from a huge block in front of you. It was watermelon yesterday. Cost for a pop is $3.50 and shaved ice was $2.50. Not too horrible as they are a small business trying to survive in this overpriced city. Also, they are a good choice if you are watching your sugar intake. Made from natural ingredients. They have stands all over the city so watch out for them. So refreshing on a hot day.

-United Tastes of America

Ruthy's is known for their crazy decorated cupcakes and pastries. They were on the Cooking Channel show United Tastes of America for their meatballs. Meatballs huh? Well Spaghetti and Meatball decorated cupcakes. Not real meatballs, just cupcakes that look like meatballs. Weird right? Well anyways stopped by in the Chelsea Market and boy was I disappointed. By far the worst cupcake I have ever ate. I cant even compare it to Walmart cupcakes because Walmarts are better. No joke. I'm totally convinced the cupcake was 2 weeks old. I would not stop here. Their cakes look crazy maybe even better then the Cake Boss. But looks aren't everything. At $5 a piece stay far away.

-The Best Thing I Ever Ate

You have probably seen RonnyBrook in your local market. You know, the $5 glass bottle of milk with the $1 deposit. Based in the Hudson Valley, RonnyBrook is known for having the best milk and even better chocolate milk and ice cream. When they wanted to open a store then went straight to the heart of Manhattan in the Chelsea Market. Being voted the best milkshake in Manhattan by Serious Eats and the NY Times, RonnyBrook has taken NY by storm. With milkshakes like Chocolate Orange Peel, Pumpkin Pie Creme Brulee, or Apple pie to name a few your taste buds are in for a treat. I grabbed a Pumpkin Pie milkshake $6.50 ouch! Welcome to Manhattan where everything costs more but tastes better. If you have ever had RonnyBrook chocolate milk then you know what my milkshake tasted like. Do yourself a favor and pick up some RonnyBrook milk and support your local farmer. Best MilkShakes around!!!!

I've been going to Zabar's for as long as I can remember. As a child whenever my father went to the city he had to stop at Zabar's. Now that I am old enough to appreciate good food I am going to Zabar's on my own. A high end delicatessen with anything your mind can imagine. Lox, caviar, bagels, pastries, olives, chicken livers, pizzas, knishes, coffee, sandwich's they have it all. Zabar's is a Manhattan institution since 1934. Zabar's has appeared in many popular TV shows such as Seinfield, Will and Grace, and Sex in the City. Be sure to stop by and stock up on your cheeses and spreads for the long trip home. This is a must for a foodies. Im always sure to pick up some lox and cream cheese and go next store to get some H&H bagels.

Catsup & Mustard-CT

-Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives

As my first child is being born and I work on my new house, my time for food adventures has greatly diminished. Luckily my in-laws have some free time to adventure. So I sent them to a crazy burger place we have been wanting to visit for some time. So today we have a guest writer. My Father in-law Clyde.

This is a genuine Burger Bar. Extremely affordable meals for both adults & kids. I went with 2 teenagers (14 yrs old). This was the test for Corey's. Started with soft drinks, all refills are free. The order was as follows: Pretzel Grilled Chicken ($8.00), Oh Burger, You Devil ($7.75), The 7 - Burger ($9.50) You can go to there website & see what these burgers are made of. We had an order of chedder & buffalo fries ($2.25). The two boys said without a doubt they would go back there anytime. One of the burgers was 2 patties of beef with brisket in between. This kid never ate brisket & is now asking his mother to cook it for him. They supply you with a steak knife so you can cut your burger in half. This may be the only way that you can pick it up to eat it. By the way, they have appetizers to die for. Be careful though, some of them are as large as a full size meal. Soup & salads are available, though they are certainly non traditional. Website has all the menus so you don't have to waste time when you sit down. It is a bar so they do have adult entertainment later in the evening. This is a must go for hamburger lovers. Enjoy.-Clyde

-Sandwich Paradise

Looking for a sub, hoagie, hero, or grinder sandwich? Well no matter what you call it the grinder as we know it came from CT. Nardelli's claims to have invented the classic Connecticut grinder. Using their very own homemade bread and special "classic mix"  (a mix of marinated vegetables they use as topping) Nardelli's has won Best Grinder in CT for years. Nardelli's has been family owned and run since 1922 and they haven't changed a thing. Their spread of salads and sandwich were really impressive and everything looked great. My sandwich was very large and really very good. Next time I'm in the Ct area I will definitely be stopping by.
