I've been hearing about this place for years. I finally got a chance to stop by while on vacation. White House Subs have been serving giant overstuffed sandwiches since the 1940s. Located a few blocks from the beach it's an easy walk. Not in the best neighborhood and showing it's age, this place is the real deal. Pictures of famous customers line the walls and they often have a line out the door. This is one of the best Italian mix subs I've had but their real claim to fame is the size. A full sub is nearly 2 feet. I recommend a half for one person. Spicy peppers, balsamic, and oil is how they do it. Well worth the stop if you are in town

-Diners Drive Ins & Dives

OPA! This cozy corner is the most authentic Greek spot in the area and continues to have a humble feel despite it's Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives debut. Guy Fieri doesn't kid around. The gyro is indeed delectable. But the moussaka is where I've found my Greek Corner comfort. Flavorful ground beef is served in a large lasagna-like slice with eggplant and creamy yet somehow fluffy cheese. It's truly love in food form. All of the specialty plates include a Greek salad and choice of rice or fries, so you've got a hefty meal on your hands for around $13. Killer hummus plates with olives and toboule, falafel, and keep that tazakiki coming. Best gryo I've ever had anywhere hand downs. Actually i didn't care for the falafel thought was kinda dry.

Went here on a recommendation from my dad, boy did he have it right. This is literally the best salad bar I have ever had anywhere. It was mind numbing. Hummus, pickles, tabouli, pita, soup, pumpkin bread. Wait, rewind. All you can eat pumpkin bread? Yes, and it was the best I've ever had. By the time my lobster came I was stuffed. My lobster dinner was decent, nothing special but when we left we had a great feeling of satisfaction. Mental physical emotional satisfaction. This is the place to be for a great meal, a great night to remember. My new go to in Maine.

Vegetarians beware! This is a full on meat assault. No holding back nose to tail. Get the pig head, Yes a full pigs head. Huge beer selection, crazy charcuterie what more could you ask for. They also sell some of their sausages by the LB butcher style. I got the pig head Cuban with a Cheerwine. Portions are alittle small but to be expected in a hip Manhattan spot. This place rocks for a nice salami plate and a craft beer on tap.

Nick Tahou's has been a Rochester institution since 1912. Their culinary legacy remains the amazing dish known as simply the garbage plate. It is up to each customer to choose the foundation of his or her garbage plate. The foundation is piles of baked beans and home-fried potatoes, a scoop of cool macaroni salad, a dollop of spicy chili sauce, some spicy mustard, and a sprinkle of chopped raw onions. It can then be topped with Texas hot wieners, hamburgers, Italian sausage, steak, or even a grilled cheese sandwich.
It is a wild, ridiculous, delicious mess! Especially noteworthy are the burger or Texas Hots garbage plate. Or even try 1 of each on the same plate.

Burgers are OK, but upper New York State is hot dog country. Nick Tahou’s are exemplary, if not epicurean. They are called Texas hots, and they are split and fried, which gives them a nice, chewy exterior and hash house raunch that boiled or even charcoal-grilled weenies do not offer.

This is massive. I couldn't even finish it. It was so good. I still dream of it, I swear.  So much food and really quite cheap. $6-8. I'm totally stoked to go back.

If you want the best burger your lips have ever tasted then look no further. Boston Burger Company is killing it all over the Boston area with multiple locations and a food truck. Mac and cheese, jalapeño poppers, pinapple, stuffing, maple syrup, peanut butter, just to name a few toppings.
I had the mac and cheese stuffed burger and my brother had the 420 burger. The 420 burger is topped with onion rings, french fries, fried mac and cheese, jalapeño poppers, and mozzarella sticks. All burgers come with homemade chips and a side. Good stuff don't miss out.

Located a few blocks from Havard campus, in Cambridge, Union Square Doughnuts serves super high end treats to the nation's smartest college students. They are no dummies at $3 a pop with flavors like hazelnut crunch, bourbon sea salt, or boston cream. Very light still warm sophisticated flavors. They got it going on, but $36 a dozen is def something to consider. I'd go back if I was in the neighborhood but not really a destination.
