Kane's Donuts-MA

Kane's Donuts

Kane's Donuts is unbelievable! Its like a donut shop that only exists in your imagination but its actually real. Its like this is where Homer Simpson would get his donuts! I tried so many different flavors. Creme brule, caramel crumb, raspberry crunch, honey dipped, butter crunch, Maine blueberry, Boston Cream, lemon coconut, caramel dipped, their flavors are never ending.
They are huge, too! Speaking of huge, you have to see their enormous coffee roll for only $7.50!! It was literally the size of my head, and that's pretty big! This was so over the top its as if Dunkin was actually handmade from the best ingredients by someone who cares about their product. Family run since 1955 and they open at 3:30am!!! Named 10 best donuts in America by Bon Appetite. Located about 30mins outside of Boston this is a must visit. I will be back.

Justin's-?

-Food Crafters

Justin's makes ultra pure and delicious nut butters from Colorado. I searched it out after seeing it on FoodCrafters. They do not have a store or restaurant so I don't have an address for you. I found it in Adams Fair Acre Farms by me in NY. Justin's is all about the portable packet of peanut butter that you can bring anywhere and eat anywhere. He has great flavors like plain almond, peanut or hazelnut but then you can get any of those with chocolate, honey, or maple syrup added. This was just straight up crushed nuts at their best. Check it out and maybe you can find it at a store near you.

Mike's is a Boston institution. When you say the word Mike's, only one  thing comes to mind. CANNOLIS!!! Huge, the biggest you have ever seen. Pistachio, chocolate, lemon, coffee, oreo, almond, strawberry, crazy flavors. Everything they make is huge enough for two people. Unbelievable!!!!!!! Although these may not have been the best cannolis I have ever had they were the biggest. These were a totally different style filling then the NY cannolis im used to. The lobster tails (which is a pastry not a sea creature) were the biggest I have ever seen too!!! You can not go to Boston without going to Mikes. I mean it. Get your pastry on!

Belle Isle Lobster-MA

Belle Isle Lobster & Seafood

-No Reservations

I had heard all the buzz about this place, and during my trip earlier to Boston, we knew we had to come here. From the outside, you wonder if this is the place that everyone is raving about. It was quite a ride outside the city. Located right on the water next to a bridge. It's really a run down, and small old scary building. The parking lot was hard to get to and horrible unless you have a 4x4. The planes from the airport fly over head constantly which was neat.

Now to the food....naturally I had to order the lobster roll ($18-$20), and I just have to say, this was the best lobster roll I had ever had. There is 1/2 lb of fresh lobster meat on some sour dough bread. The lobster meat is so tender, I could have ate two of these babies. I suggest getting the cole slaw side, and just put it on the lobster meat. It gives it that creamy taste, and adds to what's already amazing. I also tasted the Haddock. It was flaky, creamy, and very rich. You can't go wrong with this choice either. Onions rings were ok and the clam chowder was good. The fisherman's platter was stacked high with all kinds of sea delights.

Let's just say, if I ever move to Boston, I'd go here once a week....at least

When the world-ending catastrophe happens, I will come to Flour to eat my final meal. This means any anxiety stemming from the possibility of extinction via Climate Change, that Mayan 2012 thing, Nuclear Holocaust, or Zombie Apocalypse affords me some treats here people!!!
Flour was on Throwdown for sticky buns and whipped Bobby Flays ass. So when Bobby was on The Best Thing I Ever Ate of course he picked their buns as his favorite sticky food. Located on Bostons South Side, Flour has been dishing out some of Bostons best pastries for yrs. Now with multiple locations you can get your sticky on all over Boston. They also serve kick ass sandwiches and homemade sodas. The sticky bun was good but my wife was in love with it. Covered in pecans and sticky syrup. The rest of their desserts looked just as good. This location was alittle tricky to find on a industrial side street but is a nice stroll from the aquarium. If I was staying over night in Boston I would definitely come here for breakfast.

-$40 a Day

Located in the food heaven of Fanueil Hall and surrounded by some of the best food I have ever seen, Carol Ann's bake shop makes all the classic hits. Muffins, scones, whoopie pies, strudels, cookies, brownies, all kinds of pastries. Rachel Ray visited Carol Ann's on her show $40 a Day. With all the good food in the Quincy Market this place is at the bottom of the food chain. Very lack luster run of the mill bake shop. I would skip and get a macaroon next door at Kilvert and Forbes. The Quincy Market is overflowing with vendors of all types. Some of the most beautiful food I have ever seen, it is extremely overwhelming. Carol Ann's did have a Boston Cream Puff that looked good but I didn't try it. My best advice is to definitely go to Quincy Market to eat but save your stomach some room and eat somewhere else.
