Yes, donuts are the new cupcakes. Who isn't  a fan of donuts. How about chicken and donuts? A match made in heaven. Especially made to order hot out the oil doughnuts. Federal Donuts has a bunch of exotic flavors to fire up your taste buds. Ive had doughnuts all over and being steamy hot is always what elevates it to the next level. These are amazing. Pomegranate nutella tahini, raspberry balsamic, spicy PBJ, or how about mango chile. They have a few locations across the city. They sell out quick. So get here early like before noon. If hot donuts are something youre into then this is worth going to. Check it out.

Paesano's is pretty old school divey Philadelphia. Some of my favorite places in this country are dives. If the food is good, it doesn't matter what the place looks like. The food is crazy good here. This is a sandwich shop. Nothing less, nothing more. The menu is right up above the flattop. Most sandwiches hover around the $8 range. But they are taking what you think of a sandwich and elevating it to a whole other level.. Deep fried lasagna, suckling pig, chicken livers, house made lamb sausage, crazy over the top combinations of flavor. How about a breaded thick rectangle of lasagna battered and deep fried on a sub roll with over easy fried eggs on top. Ya it was carbo overload but it was pretty dam good with the egg yolk dripping all over. Chef Peter McAndrews is one of the top chefs in Philly and owns a number of restaurants around town. Take a look at the  menu and salivate for yourself.
Always ahead of the curve

Located in the heart of Philadelphia's Little Italy, Di Bruno Brothers is endlessly impressive. Since 1939, Di Bruno Brothers has had the cured meats hanging from the ceiling, the vast selection of cheeses, to the strong knowledge boasted by the staff. I've never really known what I'm going to come out with when I walk through the door, and I don't think I've ever purchased the same item twice, just because there are so many more things to try before getting hung up on one or two of these delicious and hard-to-find items. My last trip cost $99 - we left with three very different blocks of cheese, some rare unpasteurized cured meat, saba, and a bottle of sugar cane syrup. Ive been to Balducci's, Zabars, Eataly, Teitel Bros, or Salumeria Rossi. Whatever Italian deli, cheese monger, or butcher you have been to Di Bruno's is better. This was the highest quality Italian speciality store I have ever stepped foot in. Simply blown away. A must go to for any meat, cheese, or tasty food aficionado.

You cant talk about Tony Luke's without bringing up Pat's and Geno's. Pat's and Geno's are always considered the two most popular cheese steak spots in Philly but for some reason they don't show their faces on to many tv shows. Some how Tony Luke has the Foodnetwork on lock down. SO After seeing this Tony Luke character on every show I thought surely the cheese steaks cant be better then Pats or Geno's. And guess what? They aren't. This was quite disappointing. Much smaller then their competitors and nothing special. Just some wet meat with whiz and onions. I will be heading back to Pats and Geno's next time im in town. Tony Luke's does do a 5lb cheese steak for $48 which I saw someone order. It looked much better then the one they served me. With so many spots in Philadelphia for a GOOD cheese steak why waste your time here.
5lb cheesesteak challange. $48. If you eat it in 1hr you get a tshirt
