New York City was the birth place of New York style pizza. Lombardi’s Pizza is America’s first pizzeria, serving up original coal fired oven pizza since 1905. Still using the same original oven that is over a 100 years old Lombardi's is still flipping pies on Spring St in Manhattan. If you come on a weekend expect to wait in a long line. This pizza is thin crust and crispy. Not as crispy as New Haven style pizza but still alittle to thin for me. I'm a thick doughy kinda guy but this pizza was very good. Fresh mozzarella, basil, and a nice sauce. I hear their clam pie is outrageous. I will definitely be trying that next time.
